SureSafe’s ‘Fall Alert’ fall alarm for the elderly is the latest advancement in personal alarm technology, building on the traditional pendant alarm and providing increased protection.
Following a fall, it is not uncommon for the pendant wearer to be unable to activate the alarm. This could be due to being unconscious or because of a loss of mobility, as is often the case with strokes. Using ‘Smart Technology’ the SureSafe ‘Fall Alert’ alarm pendant will automatically activate the alarm when it detects that the wearer has had a fall. The ‘Fall Alert’, measuring air pressure and speed of movement, will detect a fall and send a signal to the base unit to raise the alarm. Fall detection disclaimer.
To prevent false alarms, the ‘Fall Alert’ fall alarm for the elderly pendant will alert the wearer that it has been activated, and they can cancel the alarm by simply pressing the button on it.
There is no need to charge this alarm. The pendant has a one-year battery, when this runs low, we are alerted and send a new one out free of charge. The base unit also has a battery back-up so that it will work even if there is a power cut.
This fall alarm for the elderly is very easy to set up, it requires no installation. You simply plug it into the telephone socket and the power, test it, and away you go. We can also arrange for an engineer to come out and set this alarm up for you. They will also demonstrate how the Fall Alert works. Once set up our customers find that the Fall Alert is very easy to use.
Following your initial payment for the Fall Alert personal alarm, the 24/7 Monitoring is paid for monthly. After you make your purchase, we will contact you to collect more details including nominated contacts, medical information and direct debit information (where you are paying monthly). The renewal price when paying annually for subsequent years is £195. There is no minimum contract period and this can be cancelled at any time. As the equipment is leased, you should return it when the contract is cancelled. When purchasing the annual plan, there is a £45 set-up fee included. This set-up fee is non-refundable after 30 days.

- Is the automatic fall detection 100% accurate?
Fall detection sensors attempt to identify potential fall situations based on changes of movement in the device. Fall detectors consist of sensors and a sophisticated algorithm. The algorithm is designed to balance sensitivity with practicality to avoid too many false alarms caused by everyday movement such as sitting down.
Like all alarms on the market, the fall detection technology in a SureSafe alarm does not allow analysis and interpretation of 100% of fall situations. In spite of its algorithm capabilities, and considering the technologies used and the target to minimise false alarms, some falls, even some dangerous-heavy falls, might not be detected. This is the reason why the manual SOS button is present on the device, and we recommend using that in the first instance where possible.
Using an alarm with a fall detector provides you with a much higher level of protection than using a device without this functionality, but it will not give you 100% protection against all falls, as no fall detector can detect every fall.
