As a leading provider of personal alarms in the UK, SureSafe cares deeply about the health, safety and happiness of older people. That’s why we’re very proud to announce that we have now joined the Age Action Alliance. Through this new collaboration, we’ll be able to take part in the Age Action Alliance’s important work toward improving wellbeing for those in later life.
“We are proud to be joining Age Action Alliance, and look forward to working with them for the betterment of older people all over the UK,” said Daniel Westhead, SureSafe’s managing director. “Helping people to age with dignity, and improving their quality of life, is a core goal at SureSafe. We are excited to support Age Action Alliance and look forward to contributing to the many great things they do.”
What is the Age Action Alliance?
Founded in 2011, the Age Action Alliance brings together public, private and third sector organisations who want to make life better for older people. By joining forces, Age Action Alliance members can work together to find answers to problems and present a united front on issues affecting older people.
Over its lifetime, the Age Action Alliance has continually grown – as of 2023 it has over 900 members. Now run by EngAgeNet (The English Ageing Network) and the National Development Team for Inclusion (NDTI), the Age Action Alliance continues its endeavour to make the voices of older people heard and improve life for older people in the realms of healthcare, finance, work, housing and more.
What the Age Action Alliance does
The Age Action Alliance’s efforts to address the needs of older people take many forms. Virtual groups discuss and form policies on crucial issues – and the participation of older people in these groups ensures that their knowledge and insights are taken into account.
The Age Action Alliance also shares news that’s relevant to older people through regular updates. Their publications investigate specific concerns of older people and share personal perspectives.
Why the Age Action Alliance’s work is important
It’s a well-known fact that groups can make more of an impact when united than when they act separately. Age Action Alliance allows organisations to come together to create clear, unified responses to news and new policies. Because Age Action Alliance involves older people in its conversations, it also ensures that its actions are well informed by the voices and lived experiences of older people.
