The Dementia Tracker from SureSafe comes with 2 different options for who the alarm calls when activated.
Our 24/7 monitoring option links your loved one’s Dementia Tracker is connected to our trained team of UK-based operators who are on hand to assist, any time of the day or night. After speaking with your loved one and assessing the situation, the operator might call a family member, the emergency services or just provide a bit of advice.
The family monitoring option connects your loved one with up to 3 loved ones. These can be relatives, friends, neighbours or professional carers.
Family & Friends App
Our family and friends app allows loved ones to provide truly connected care. Up to 3 family members can get access to our App, irrespective of whether you choose the 24/7 or family monitored version of the Dementia Tracker. The App gives additional important information about the alarm, allows you to set additional safety alerts, and also includes a secure in-App chat feature. Thanks to the geo-fence functionality it can perform as a wandering alarm for dementia patients.

- How do I set up the SureSafe Dementia Tracker?
Setting up your dementia tracker is very easy to do.
If you have selected the 24/7 monitored version then the tracker is ready to use straight out of the box. All you need to do is send us the required user information that will have been requested after purchase, set up the direct debit, charge the watch for 2-3 hours before first use, put it on the wearers wrist, and then test it.
If you have selected the family monitored version then you log in to your account, choose your SIM card subscription plan, add nominated contact phone numbers, charge the watch for 2-3 hours before first use, put it on the wearers wrist, and then test it.
You can send App invites to loved ones via your user area in the admin panel.
- Should I choose 24/7 or family monitoring?
If you are confident that your designated contact/s will respond immediately at anytime of the day or night then a personal alarm that contacts family will work for you. For a guaranteed immediate response and ultimate peace of mind we'd suggest 24/7 monitoring.
- Is the tracker bracelet easy to remove?
The tracker / watch has a secure and tamper-proof lockable strap. The strap is designed so that it is non removable without a key.
Carers can quickly and easily remove the tracker with the key, but can feel confident that their loved one will always have their tracker on them when needed.
- Can I view where my loved one / the patient is 24 hours a day?
Yes – the App home screen has a map that shows you the location of the tracker. It has a refresh button that allows you to request an updated location at any time. We call this our ‘find me’ function.
- Will I get notified if the person wearing the alarm wanders?
The tracker has a wandering alarm function that you set up using ‘safe-zones’, also known as geofences. To set up a wander alarm simply set up a ‘safe-zone’ around the user's home and if they leave that safe-zone then you will receive an alert directly to your phone. This is all managed quickly and easily in your online account.
- Can the tracker be worn in the shower?
Yes – the tracker can be worn in the shower. The bathroom is the highest risk place for a fall, so wearing the tracker in the shower is highly recommended. The tracker has an IP67 water-resistance rating.
- Does the SureSafe Dementia Tracker work anywhere?
Yes – the tracking device will work anywhere that there is a mobile phone signal and a GPS signal. This is approximately 98% of the UK.
